How do the reminders work?

Reminders are sent every two weeks to those who have ordered reminders when their vehicle’s inspection interval is approaching its end. The customer can choose how they want the reminder, i.e., by email or text message.

The information of those who have ordered reminders is checked from Traficom’s vehicle information system. The check is done just before sending the reminders, so that it would be possible to take into account those vehicles that have just been inspected, changed owners, or been scrapped.

Why haven’t I received a reminder message?

We process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy and general legislation. Your data is used to find your vehicle from Traficom’s vehicle information system. If you haven’t received a reminder, please check the most common reasons mentioned below.

You cannot receive inspection reminders if

  • you have made a prohibition on information disclosure to Traficom, because then your data cannot be processed. Go and remove the prohibition.
  • the registration number has been entered incorrectly
  • you are not the owner or holder of the vehicle
  • your provided address information differs too much from that in the population information system. Name and address information should be the same as in the population information system
  • the email address has been incorrect and/or not confirmed via the confirmation email that arrives after sending the inspection reminder order form. The most common errors are incorrect endings such as @hotmail.fi or @gmail.fi.
  • the phone number is incorrect

If you cannot order a reminder, remove any prohibition on information disclosure and make your order again. Ensure your contact information is correct. Name and address information should be the same as in the population information system. Provide information without abbreviations and if you are Swedish-speaking, provide your address information in Swedish. Avoid abbreviations (i.e., not ”Mannerheimint.”, but ”Mannerheimintie”). Provide street/apartment numbers and any letters accurately. The postal code and phone number must also be correct. The reminder text message is sent to the number you save in your information during the ordering stage.
