Instructions on how to make an appointment with Ajovarma
With the following instructions, you can make an appointment on the website.
Select service and product
Start booking an appointment online by choosing the service and product you want to make an appointment for. (Depending on the answers you give, you may also be directly offered a pre-selected service and product.) Additionally, choose the service language. This is the language you wish to be served in at the Ajovarma service point.
Add a social security number to your appointment and click ‘Check details’.
Enter your personal and contact information
Enter your personal and contact information and click ‘Continue to appointment time selection’. A booking confirmation will be sent to the email address you entered. Along with the appointment confirmation you will get the reservation ID, which you can use to pay for, change or cancel the appointment, if necessary.
Choose a service point and a timeslot
Select the service point you want to visit. In the search box, enter the location you intend to visit or your own location, and select your preferred location from the drop-down menu below the search box. You can see all service points within 100 kilometres of your chosen location. If your city has more than one service point, select one from the drop-down menu.
Find a convenient time for a visit from the service point’s calendar. Use the ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ buttons to navigate to different weeks or click on the calendar symbol and select the appropriate week. Click on the appropriate date and time and the selected time box will turn green.
Next, click ‘Continue to confirmation’.
Confirming an appointment
On the ‘Appointment booking 3/3’ page, check that the information is correct and click ‘Confirm appointment’.
A confirmation of the appointment will be sent to the email address that you provided as contact information. You can also print your appointment details by clicking ‘Print’.
Paying in advance
You can pay for the appointment in advance. Doing so will speed up your visit. If your driving or handling test is carried out at a different location than where the Ajovarma service point is, please ensure that your test has been paid for in advance. The prices for regulatory services are determined by the current valid prices set by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency.
Our online payment service is provided by Paytrail. All Finnish banks are available as payment options. From a wide range of payment methods, you can choose the one that suits you best and Paytrail will forward your payment to the seller. Your bank statement or credit card statement will state Paytrail as the recipient of the payment.
Paying for, changing or cancelling a booked appointment
You can change and cancel an appointment through our online service by using the reservation ID included with the appointment confirmation email. The exceptions are
- Cancellations of driving tests, handling tests or oral theory tests
These tests must be cancelled no later than the previous working day during the opening hours of the Ajovarma telephone service (Mon–Fri from 8 am to 3.45 pm). Later than that, the appointments can only be changed by calling our nationwide telephone service.
- Reservations made by driving schools
Changing these appointments is done by the driving school that made the appointment, so please contact your driving school.
- Prepaid appointments
Cancelling these is only possible through the nationwide telephone service.
Any changes to payment regulations may limit the transfer of prepaid reservations.
Having trouble logging in to access your application information?
When you log in to change an appointment, the last name and reservation ID must be in the same format as they are in the appointment confirmation. Please check the exact spelling of both in the appointment confirmation.Look up an Ajovarma appointment
