Certified expert

A-Katsastus Oy is a certified expert approved by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Traficom. A certified expert can give statements on vehicles’ compliance to regulations within the limits of its competence area.

National individual approval

New vehicles without type approval can be approved for traffic through the individual approval procedure. Typically, vehicles subject to individual approval are domestically produced trailers and cars with bodywork (‘second stage manufacture’). Individual approval is a European form of approval, and it is based on regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament.
